How it works

Copy your trip's address
Every trip has one — it looks like trip-abc123@in.stopful.com. It's in any stop's Bookings section, or the Bookings tab.

Forward a confirmation
Hotel, flight, train, car hire or activity — forward the confirmation email exactly as you received it.

It lands on the right stop
Stopful reads the email and matches it to your itinerary — city names match even when the confirmation spells them differently than the map does.

The details go to work
The price is logged to your budget automatically. A flight or train confirmation sets the real departure and arrival times on that leg. Hotels get a Navigate button. And the “overnight with no bed booked” warning clears itself.
Your inbox stays yours
Stopful never connects to your email account. There's no inbox scanning, no OAuth grant to your mail provider, nothing to revoke later — you forward the emails you choose, one by one, and that's all it ever sees. Parsing is AI-based and good, but it's reading the same messy email you got — glance over the details it extracted, the same way you'd check a calendar entry.
When TripIt is the better tool
If your travel is flight-heavy and you want confirmations imported automatically from your inbox, with flight alerts when a gate changes — that's TripIt, and it's excellent at it. - How do I get my bookings into Stopful?
- Forward the confirmation email to your trip's own address (it looks like trip-abc123@in.stopful.com — copy it from any stop's Bookings section or the Bookings tab). The reservation appears on the right stop with its dates, times and price.
- Which confirmation emails can it read?
- Hotels, flights, trains, car hire and activities. The price is logged to the trip budget, flight and train times are set on the matching leg, and hotels get a navigation button.
- Does Stopful read my inbox?
- No. Stopful never connects to your email account — there is no inbox access to grant. You forward individual confirmation emails to the trip's address, and those forwards are the only email it ever sees.
- Is this like TripIt?
- It's the same core trick — email in, itinerary out — attached to an actual road-trip planner. TripIt is stronger for automatic inbox import and flight alerts; Stopful puts the bookings on a map with drive times, hotels, EV chargers and a budget, free and without an account.
- What happens to the price in the confirmation?
- It's added to the trip's budget as an expense automatically, so the Actual view of your budget fills itself in as you book.
