1. Zurich· 1 night
Swim in the lake with the locals, then Niederdorf's lanes for dinner — Zurich is better than its banking reputation.
2. Lucerne· 1 night
The Chapel Bridge is the photo; Mt Pilatus by boat + cogwheel is the day out.
3. Interlaken· 2 nights
Gateway to Lauterbrunnen's 72 waterfalls, Grindelwald's cliff walk and — budget permitting — the Jungfraujoch railway.

The medieval capital wrapped in a river bend; float the Aare in summer like the locals do.

Arrive via the Lavaux vineyard terraces above Lake Geneva — the most beautiful 20 km of the whole trip.
Good to know
One CHF 40 motorway vignette covers the whole country for the year. Trains parallel the entire route if you'd rather mix in a car-free day. June–September opens the high excursions (Jungfraujoch, Schilthorn); Lauterbrunnen's valley is worth it in any weather.
